The functionality Metabook has to offer comes in handy if you want to write documentation, if you are working on a book, or if you simply want to put your ideas in order. You see, this is an application that allows you to organize text in hierarchical order: Node -> Topic -> Detail.

English and German – these are the two languages supported by Metabook’s installer. No matter what language you choose, one thing remains unchanged: installing Metabook is an effortless task that takes little time to complete. There’s nothing difficult about it: download an installer, run it, follow a setup wizard’s instructions.

The panel on the left hand side of the application’s interface lists all the nodes, topics, and details you created. Select a node for example and all the text you enter for that node will be displayed by the panel in the upper right hand side. If you assign any files to the node, they will be presented by the panel in the lower right hand side.

To get started with Metabook’s functionality you must first create a profile. Once the profile is created, you can start enjoying all the functionality the application has to offer: create nodes, topics, and details; enter text for the nodes, topics, and details; bold, italic, underline the text; save, move, delete the profile. If you have problems figuring out the functionality Metabook has to offer, go to Help -> Documentation. Do so and you will visit the Metabook Documentation webpage that comprehensively explains how to use the application.

Metabook is freeware. Cons:
None that I could think of.

Pros

English and German are supported by the setup wizard. There’s nothing complicated about the interface; you will quickly figure it out. Useful documentation is available; access it if you need help getting started with Metabook. Use the application to hierarchically organize text. Metabook is freeware (consider making a donation).

Cons

ider making a donation if you find the application useful. Efficiently organize text in hierarchical order by using Daniel Seichter’s Metabook, a great tool that is very easy to use and is offered for the awesome price of free.
